• Graduated in Commerce in the year 1961 from Gorakhpur University and passed LL.B. in the year 1963 from St. Andrew's College, Gorakhpur.
• Appointed P.C.S.(J) in the year 1970 and promoted in Higher Judicial Service in the year 1981. Promoted in the year 1996 as District & Sessions Judge.
• Served as Judicial Member in Sales Tax Tribunal, Varanasi from Oct, 1985 to Jul, 1989, as Addl. Secretary & Addl. L.R. to the Government of U.P. from Aug, 1994 to May, 1996.
• Also, as Principal Secretary (Legislative) & L.R. to the Government of U.P. from Apr, 1998 to Jul, 2002.
• Elevated as permanent Judge at Allahabad High Court on Jul 05, 2002.
